Mater Hospital Radio was set up in 1978 to provide entertainment for the patients of the Mater Hospital. Over the years a variety of shows have been presented including a range of music from the Top 20 to Classical, through Folk, Gospel, Country and Jazz. Special events such as "A book at bedtime" and the pantomime from the Grand Opera House have also been well recieved.

Throughout the years maney guests have appeared on MHR from the world of local media, entertainment, sport and politics and some of our volunteers have hone on to careers in these areas.
